Combine Sugar & Syrup together in kettle & cook until they are light brown.  Take kettle off of the stove & add the Butter & Soda.  When they are mixed in quickly stir in the Peanuts & pour onto a buttered cookie sheet.  Use a buttered spatula to spread.  Cool and eat.
